As a dedicated advocate for small businesses, I collaborated with Saleem's Fish Supreme, a beloved restaurant in Macon, GA, to revitalize its brand after nearly half a decade serving its community. Tasked with designing a modern and attention-grabbing visual identity, I developed a brand that balances rustic charm with contemporary appeal, ensuring it stays true to the restaurant's legacy while attracting a new generation of customers.

Graphic Design / Brand Design

The challenge was to create a modern yet timeless visual identity that honored Saleem's rich history. Subtle elements were incorporated to reflect the owner's Muslim heritage, adding a layer of cultural significance. The bold blue and orange color palette combines retro charm with intention - blue representing the ocean and orange evoking the crispy crust of their signature fried fish.

Brand Pattern
I created a custom brand pattern featuring illustrations of key throwing techniques: a shot putter in the ‘glide’ position, a discus thrower mid-release, an athlete in the power throw stance, and another coming out of the back of the circle. These vital moments highlight the precision of the sport. I also incorporated the star and ring from the logo, tying the design back to the brand’s core identity.

It was an incredible opportunity to support a business so deeply rooted in Macon's community. Designing for Saleem's Fish Supreme allowed me to explore the delicate balance of blending modern aesthetics with a rich, long standing brand. This experience not only sharpened my design skills but also deepened my appreciation for the impact thoughtful branding can have on preserving a legacy while paving the way for future growth.
